1. About mahallify
mahallify ("we," "us," or "our") is a community platform connecting Central Asian diaspora communities in the United States and Canada. The app is operated by mahallify and can be reached at [email protected] or mahallify.us.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use mahallify. By using the app, you represent that you meet this requirement. Accounts found to belong to users under 13 will be removed.
3. Your Account
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
- You must provide accurate information when creating your account.
- You may not share your account with others or create multiple accounts to evade a ban.
- You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
4. SMS Messaging & Phone Verification
When you choose to sign in with your phone number, mahallify will send you a one-time SMS verification code (OTP) for authentication purposes.
Consent: By entering your phone number and tapping "Send Code" on the sign-in screen, you expressly agree to receive a one-time verification code from mahallify via SMS text message at the number you provided. This consent is specific to SMS verification and is separate from your acceptance of these Terms of Use or our Privacy Policy. You are not required to accept SMS messages as a condition of any purchase, and you may instead sign in with email, Google, or Telegram. SMS Program Disclosure
Program: mahallify one-time verification codes (OTP) for account sign-in.
Message type: Transactional only. No marketing or promotional messages are ever sent.
Message frequency: One message per sign-in attempt. No recurring marketing messages.

To opt out: Reply STOP to any message to cancel. You will receive a confirmation and no further messages will be sent.

5. Telegram & Google Sign-In
You may also choose to sign in with Telegram. When you tap "Continue with Telegram," our official bot — @mahallifyBot — opens in the Telegram app. Tapping Start in that chat tells Telegram to share basic public profile data with us: your Telegram numeric user ID, first name, last name, and (if you have one) public username.
We use this data only to create your mahallify account or recognize you on return visits. We do not receive your phone number, contacts, messages, or any other Telegram data, and we will not message you on Telegram beyond the one-time sign-in confirmation. You can disconnect this link at any time by deleting your mahallify account from in-app settings, which removes the stored Telegram identifier along with the rest of your account data.
Alternatively, you may sign in with Google. When you tap "Continue with Google," a secure Google sign-in page opens in your browser. After you approve, Google shares basic profile data with us: your name, email address, and profile picture. We use this data only to create your mahallify account or recognize you on return visits. We do not gain access to your Gmail, contacts, files, or any other Google data, and we cannot post or act on your behalf. You can revoke this connection at any time from your Google Account permissions page or by deleting your mahallify account from in-app settings.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use mahallify to:
- Post false, misleading, or fraudulent content, including fake job listings or scam offers
- Harass, threaten, or harm other users
- Post illegal content or facilitate illegal activity
- Spam other users through messages or listings
- Impersonate another person or organization
- Scrape, crawl, or automate access to the platform without permission
- Attempt to circumvent moderation, bans, or security measures
7. Content You Post
You retain ownership of content you post (listings, photos, messages). By posting, you grant mahallify a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display and distribute that content within the platform for the purpose of operating the service.
You are solely responsible for the content you post. We reserve the right to remove content that violates these Terms or our community standards, without notice.
8. Content Moderation
All listings go through a moderation review before becoming publicly visible. We may approve, reject, or remove any listing at our discretion. Accounts that repeatedly violate our policies may be banned.
9. Professionals
The Professionals section highlights members whom the community recognizes for their work — for example lawyers, doctors, realtors, and business owners. Because mahallify is a free, community-run platform, the following rules apply to everyone who appears in, is nominated for, or uses the Professionals section.
How professionals are added and removed. Professionals are added to, kept in, or removed from the Professionals section based on community decision — such as nominations, endorsements, votes, reports, and feedback from members — together with review by mahallify moderators. The community's input guides these decisions, but mahallify makes the final call and may apply it at our sole discretion. We may add, decline, feature, un-feature, suspend, or remove any professional profile or recognition at any time, for any reason or no reason, with or without notice. We may also change how the recognition process works at any time.
No right to a listing. Appearing in the Professionals section is a privilege, not a right. No one is entitled to be added, to remain listed, to keep a badge or recognition, or to any particular placement or ranking. Being nominated, endorsed, or voted for does not guarantee a listing.
Free, with no business relationship. mahallify does not charge professionals or members any fee, and we do not receive commissions, referral fees, or any other payment for listings or introductions. A listing does not create any employment, agency, partnership, referral, or advertising relationship between you and mahallify. Because no money is exchanged, you agree that you have no claim against mahallify for compensation, refunds, lost clients, lost income, or other damages arising from a decision to add, not add, change, or remove a listing.
Removal is not a judgment. Removing or not adding a professional does not mean, and should not be read to mean, that the person did anything wrong or is not qualified. Decisions can reflect changes in community input, activity, policy, or many other reasons, and we are not required to explain them.
Not an endorsement or verification. Community recognition and endorsements reflect the opinions of individual members. They are not an endorsement, certification, recommendation, or guarantee by mahallify. We do not verify licenses, credentials, insurance, qualifications, or the quality of anyone's work. Before hiring or relying on any professional, you are responsible for checking their license and credentials with the appropriate licensing body and using your own judgment. Any agreement you make with a professional is solely between you and them.
If you are a professional. You are responsible for the accuracy of your profile and for following all laws and professional rules that apply to you, including licensing, advertising, and confidentiality rules for your field. Do not post information that would create a professional-client relationship or give individualized professional advice through public posts unless you are permitted to do so. Endorsements and comments about you are user content posted by other members and are not statements by mahallify.
Opting out. If you have been added to the Professionals section and do not want to be listed, you may remove yourself from in-app settings, where available, or contact us at [email protected] and we will remove your listing.
10. No Guarantees
mahallify is a platform that connects community members — we are not a party to any transaction, employment, housing agreement, or other arrangement made through the app. We do not verify the accuracy of listings or the identity of users beyond account authentication. Use your own judgment and exercise caution when interacting with other users.
11. Disclaimers
The app is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, error-free operation, or that the content on the platform is accurate or safe. To the maximum extent permitted by law, mahallify is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app.
12. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account at any time if you violate these Terms, without prior notice. You may delete your account at any time from the app settings. Upon termination, your right to use the app ceases immediately. Removing a listing or recognition in the Professionals section (see Section 9) is separate from account termination and does not by itself affect your account.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via push notification or an in-app banner. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes shall be resolved in accordance with applicable US law.
